“Cloudy during the day. attended the morning services and sabbath school  Mother Otis and Lizzie went to Bridgewater. John passed the afternoon and evening with me  Rain (in the evening). the ___ think of this with pleasure I feel that I have never enjoyed his presence as on this evening. and has it not been proved that Love is the crowning bliss of womans’ heart..” – Hattie E.F. John passed the night here. another night of suffering has past (sic) but ___ hereafter I will endeavor ever to keep in mind the recollections of the past and more particularly of the evening which has passed”  – Hattie E.F.
