“went to Rocky Point with Augusta  had a shower on our way. one after we arrived there and just as we reached home  had as pleasant a time as I could have without John’s company but I find it is not possible for me to enjoy any thing (sic) without his presence..”  – Hattie E.F. D.

Notes: “Rocky Point” most likely refers to Rocky Point Park, an amusement park on the ocean in Warwick RI which opened in 1847. (I myself have gone there a few times. It is now closed.) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rocky_Point_Amusement_Park
