“Rain. I accompanied John to Rocky Point  had a very pleasant time considering the state of the weather  the band accompanied John  took tea with us and passed a short time with me.”  – Hattie E.F. D.

Notes: “Rocky Point” most likely refers to Rocky Point Park, an amusement park on the ocean in Warwick RI which opened in 1847. (I myself have gone there a few times. It is now closed.) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rocky_Point_Amusement_Park

  1. Oh Hattie – I wish you would tell us if the band accompanied John or if John took tea with you. If it was the former, what was John playing or singing?
