It is not very pleasant. Lizzie and I attended the evening prayer meting (sic) after meeting Mary Abby and I took a short walk. Augusta called.”                                                         -Hattie E.F. D.

Notes: Lizzie is Hattie’s younger sister, who was 13yrs old in 1866.

Notes: “Otis” was most likely Hattie’s younger brother, James Otis, who would have been 16yrs old in 1866. Hattie later named her son Otis, b. 1872.
